We are The Newhall Book Company.

We believe children’s books should be more than just stories — they should
be fun, exciting, creative adventures that spark imaginations and leave lasting lessons.

Our mission is simple:
To tell exciting tales full of rhythm and rhyme.
To create characters children will never forget.
To share stories that teach, inspire, and delight.

A Note From Our Founder

A lot of my stories are all about courage; facing fears, taking on challenges, and doing the right thing even when it’s hard.

Which is probably why, alongside finishing our first books, I’ve decided to take on a challenge of my own.

On Sunday 26 April 2026 I will be channelling my inner Sir Laurence and attempting to break the Guinness World Record for The Fastest Marathon Dressed as a Knight – and raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital along the way.

Throughout all April 2026, I will also be donating 15% of ALL book sales to GOSH.

Why this challenge?

Well, if there’s one thing The Stubborn Troll would tell you, it’s that some quests are worth attempting even when they appear impossible.

Great Ormond Street Hospital is a cause that is very close to my heart; They do extraordinary work for seriously ill children and their families – work that relies heavily on fundraising and public support.

The importance of bravery is something that features heavily in many of my stories, and I figured to celebrate the launch of The Newhall Book Company I should practice what I preach. With this in mind I’ve set myself a challenge that’s going to be tough, painful, and (according to most sensible people) a bit ridiculous – all in the hope of raising as much money as possible for GOSH.

Update 27.04.2026 – Mission… ACCOMPLISHED!

** Guinness World Record Achieved!** 🏆

I’m thrilled to share that we successfully broke the Guinness World Record for the Fastest Marathon Dressed as a Knight at the 2026 London Marathon — all while raising over £2,500 for the incredible team at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Running 26.2 miles in full costume (in one of the hottest London Marathons on record) was every bit as tough as it sounds, but the incredible support from family, friends, and the wonderful GOSH community kept me going every step of the way.

This challenge was never just about the record. It was about showing my own children, and the young readers of our books, that resilience really does rule supreme. That when things get hard, you keep putting one foot in front of the other and trust that if you can do that for long enough, sooner or later you will achieve your goal.

Thank you to everyone who cheered us on, donated, or simply sent kind words. Every pound raised goes directly to Great Ormond Street Hospital to help sick children and their families.

The adventure continues… both on the roads and on the pages of our books. If you’d like to support GOSH, the official donation link is still open below.

With huge gratitude, “Sir” James
